A NEW LOCATION IN THE NEW TOWN

What’s on offer? Everything you’d expect and loads to discover. Old favourites, new creations. Stately Bordeaux and Burgundy. The Imperials of Italy and Spain. Plus half-crazed rural vignerons with massive moustaches.
If you’re passing on a Thursday, join us from 5pm as we pull a couple of special (and sometimes very old!) bottles from the cellar to taste by the glass at cost price. #finewinethursday

Tasting Note
A cult favourite among natural-wine lovers, and it's easy to see why. Red and white grapes fermented together give a bright, lively wine full of crunchy red fruit, with a lovely texture from fermenting in concrete. Pure, joyful and seriously drinkable. Try it slightly chilled.
Drink it with: Mediterranean mezze, grilled lamb or roast aubergine. A relaxed wine for relaxed meals.
The Winemaking
Cinsault (45%) and Grenache (40%) co-fermented with Clairette and other varieties. Hand-picked, partly destemmed and fermented with wild yeasts in open-top concrete, with no extraction. Aged 12–18 months in concrete and bottled unfined and unfiltered with only a tiny dose of sulphur.
The Vineyards
Organic, south-facing granite and gneiss slopes in the Ardèche. It's labelled Vin de France rather than Côtes-du-Rhône because of how it's made.
The Producer
Former nuclear engineer Eric Texier turned to wine in 1992 and, with his wife Laurence, built a domaine from scratch. They now farm 12 hectares of old vines on both banks of the Rhône, organically from the start, and he's helped revive the historic Brézème enclave.
The Details
- Vintage: 2024
- ABV: 12.5%
- Size: 75cl
- Region: Ardèche, Rhône (Vin de France)
- Country: France
- Grapes: Cinsault, Grenache, Clairette
Tasting Note
If you think English still wine is all thin and tart, this will change your mind. Ripe pear, fresh pollen and a surprising flash of mango and banana on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied and gently creamy, with lively acidity keeping it fresh, and a long finish that drifts into baked apple. Textured, characterful and genuinely delicious.
Drink it with: oily fish. Mackerel or a seared tuna steak are perfect, as is a big, punchy salad.
The Winemaking
Two vineyard parcels are pressed separately, then fermented together so their characters knit. A warmer start to fermentation builds richness, then the wine spends six months on its lees, stirred twice a month, for that creamy texture. No oak.
The Vineyards
Sussex vineyards on clay loam and chalk, guyot-pruned. The same chalk seam that gives English fizz its backbone gives this Pinot Gris its freshness.
The Producer
Artelium is a boutique East Sussex estate founded in 2020 by Mark Collins and Julie Bretland, built around wine, art and nature. Alongside their serious sparkling wines, they're pushing what English still wine can be, and this Pinot Gris is a great example.
The Details
- Vintage: 2023
- ABV: 12.5%
- Size: 75cl
- Region: Sussex
- Country: England
- Grapes: Pinot Gris
Tasting Note
Zingy, sunny Gascon white, made for warm evenings. Bright lemon-green, with intense green apple and grapefruit, plus lime and nectarine. Very refreshing, light at 11%, and dangerously easy to drink. Proof that you don't need to spend a fortune for a seriously enjoyable bottle.
Drink it with: grilled fish, shellfish or marinated vegetables, or on its own, well chilled.
The Winemaking
70% Colombard and 30% Sauvignon Blanc, picked at night when it's cool, pneumatically pressed for the best juice only and fermented cold to keep all those bright aromas. No oak.
The Vineyards
The Côtes de Gascogne in south-west France, rolling Armagnac country of pine trees and hilltop towns, where vines have grown since Roman times. A warm climate that still keeps good acidity in the grapes.
The Producer
White & Sea is a modern two-grape blend that marries traditional south-west French winemaking with some newer techniques.
The Details
- Vintage: 2025
- ABV: 11%
- Size: 75cl
- Region: Côtes de Gascogne
- Country: France
- Grapes: Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Note
Yellow apple and pineapple with green melon and lime. Fresh and fruity, finishing with zesty citrus and a long, mineral tail.
Drink it with: curries and spicy dishes, sushi or oysters.
The Winemaking
Each soil type is fermented separately: granite for lime and minerality, sandstone for fruit and structure. Cold-settled, then fermented cool at 14–16°C in steel, with six months on the lees. No oak.
The Vineyards
Vines averaging 35 years old on decomposed granite and Table Mountain sandstone, a mix of trellised and bush vines, partly dry-farmed.
The Producer
Bruwer Raats founded Raats Family Wines in 2000 to champion two grapes few people cared about then: Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. His plots in the granite-rich Polkadraai Hills are now regarded as one of Stellenbosch's finest wards.
The Details
- Vintage: 2024
- ABV: 13%
- Size: 75cl
- Region: Polkadraai Hills, Stellenbosch
- Country: South Africa
- Grapes: Chenin Blanc
The "I Just Want Some Wine" Case
You know we all love great wine here at Good Brothers.
But, we also know that every now and then we all just want some wine. We don't care too much about the intricacies of where is is from and who made it. Sometimes we just want a bottle of Sauv Blanc and we want it now.
So that is why we have developed our "I just want some wine" cases.
You tell us how much you want to spend, how many bottles want and what style you like and we will do the rest.
You can even set up a standing order every month, just so that you never run out!
You deserve it. Subscribe for just £15/month (about 45 mins of utility bills in today’s money) and get 25% off our full range of wines and 15% off spirits and in the Bar. Plus: updates on new arrivals before anyone else and invites to our private tasting room (includes cushions).
